Thank you Amir, Khalil and the entire team working to bring Zahra’s Paradise to the world! I’ve been following your webcomic for – gosh, has it really been? – several years now.
I have a quick question – have y’all heard of the campaign Education Under Fire (educationunderfire.com)? It’s a campaign/film that addresses the Iranian government’s denial of the right to education on the basis of ideological or religious grounds. I’m a Baha’i and the Baha’i community in my area is participating in a weekend long arts-walk in April, with our concentration being Education Under Fire. In addition to showing the film, we also plan to share Persian poetry, music, dance and visual art with our community (including info. re. Zahra’s Paradise).
If y’all feel compelled to share a few words re. this issue, or would like to direct me to a particularly relevant artist, please reply to me through this forum or via email at .
We’re very much aware of the Education under fire campaign, and we’ve in touch with them, trying to see how we can work with them. Zahra’s Paradise is also currently working with Amnesty International on a related campaign for human rights in Iran. Great minds think alike!

I forgot to add that the paper-book version of Zara’s Paradise contains a Glossary. This is a very useful part of the book to those readers (like myself) who know little about Iran – its past; its politics; its religious ‘leaders’… The Glossary helped me a lot to understand the larger context of the story.

After my initial frustrations with the online version of Zara’s Paradise, I decided to order the book; I wanted a ‘real’ copy of the book anyway (!) My local bookshop actually had a copy (the French Casterman edition) in stock so I was able to read the whole book just a week or so after discovering your web-site. I started the book by looking over the pages of names printed in tiny characters at the end of the book – the part you call ‘Omid’. A good place to start the book in a way – it made everything in the story somehow more real. Today, I came across a BBC clip: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17135806 and glimpsed that black bearded prison official that I think inspired one of the more evil characters in the story. This made me wonder: how much of the story is based on real events and real characters? Its heartbreaking to think that anything like this can be happening in our modern world. I can only hope that Iran can one day soon shed itself of this evil blood-sucking regime.

As you know… our country have the same historic story about young generation taking part on searching democracy in justice (try to googling about “Tragedy Semmanggi 1998″).

Usually, it is the publisher who has the book translated, as that requires a lot of money
and expertise. We’re hoping to have an Indonesian publisher at some point, hopefully soon,
and that would take care of the translation, which is a big job!

This work is from the heart and soul. It is a hugely IMPORTANT work, as many in the West feared what was happening in Iran. We fear for the PEOPLE of Iran, and not the autocrats and tyrants.

That book was named… MAUS.

Hello: I’ve tried to load your comic many times without success. I clicked on the ‘Begin the story…’ link and all I get is an empty window with a ‘Loading comic…’ message. The comic never loads. I have tried with 2 operating systems – Windows 7 and Linux using Firefox, Opera, Chromium , Epiphany and Internet Explorer. None of these work. And yes, I have ‘enabled popups’ for your website. Any suggestions as to how I can get the comic to load?
I tested the page today, (Tuesday 7th February) with the Chromium, Firefox, Opera, Midori and Epiphany web browsers under Linux and they all worked perfectly – though I have not tried it with Windows 7 yet. Many thanks to you and to your web master for fixing this problem. I am really looking forward to reading this story after I watched a report about it on French television.

However, these videos are available to watch on YouTube for just 7 days. I tried to find the link for you, but unfortunately I think they may have already removed it.

Zahra’s Paradise was originally written in English, but it was translated in many languages (including in Italian) within a few days, page by page, as we produced and serialized it on this web site. It is now available in book stores in most countries. Enjoy the book and please tell all your friends.
